Informed at the KH tonight that the under-privileged ones who were not invited to the soiree to receive a RNWT, will eventually get one from London Branch before the end of January 2014! Hope the winter weather doesn't disrupt the trucks deliveries! :)

A bit of gossip.
by chrisuk ini just thought i'd share this; my mom has dinner with her jw friend on tuesdays and apparently the jw wasn't in a very good mood today... the reason for this as she told my mom is because she wasn't invited to the agm.
she's been a jw for 25 years, doesn't pioneer, but is very dedicated to the cause.
she also explained to my mom that 2 other sisters one of whom is 80 yrs old and has been a jw all her life wasn't invited either.

Do I hear you all shouting ' So what'? Well look at how it has been corruptly worded for more than 60 years in the original NWT:
Ephesians 1:15 - " That is why I also, since I have heard of the faith YOU have in the Lord Jesus and toward all the holy ones.."
So for more than 60 years, Witnesses believed that the Ephesians had faith in the holy ones!!
Remind me again - what was the reason the original NWT committee wanted to remain anonymous? Can I guess?
It will be interesting to discover other little perverted verses during the next 12-16 weeks, while we have to read our old versions as we listen to the privileged ones reading from the RNWT. (here in UK anyway, according to Branch letter read out tonight) )

Circulation figures for Bible versions - how does the NWT compare?
by slimboyfat inthey mentioned at the annual meeting that over 200 million copies of the nwt have been produced.
i wondered how that compares with other versions, but it seems circulation figures are not terribly easy to come by.
after the king james version, which has probably been printed billions of times, i guess the niv is probably the most popular version.

I look forward to getting my FREE copy of the Reference Bible, to see if it still has the blatantly truthful footnote for 1st Peter 3:15 for the expression, "deep respect". It's from the Greek phobos, and literally means 'fear'.
It's speaking of a reverential, Godly fear, so Ephesians 5:33 (NWT) falsely states that a woman should have 'deep respect' for her husband. (regardless of whether he has earned that respect?????)
Nope, it's referring to her acknowledging of God's headship arrangement within marriage - that's what the wife should have a 'phobia' or 'fear' of!

IMHO it is a way of diverting people's attention from what is actually being said in the verse.
It is stating very plainly that willful, practicers of sin, will die! This is confirmed by Paul at Romans 6:23 - " For the wages sin [continuous & unrepentant] pays is [permanent] death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord."
There are two courses of action, and two outcomes; one cancels out the other. By accepting the terms and conditions of the New Covenant facilitated by Christ's ransom, ('this means my blood of the Covenant...on behalf of many'; 'Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world') repentant sinners can ask their heavenly Father for forgiveness, thereby being offered the gift of everlasting life. Rejecting the life-line of the Covenant and the ransom via Christ's rulership, will result in death.
The WTBTS try to use the aforementioned Scripture as confirmation of the spurious teaching that Romans 6:7 refers to a person literally dying. "You've paid the price of your sinful life, simply by croaking"! (they died with reference to sin - not life itself!)
Perpetuating such a corrupt doctrine totally ridicules the need for Christ's sacrifice, because it asserts that our own death wipes out our sins.
What a wonderfully demonic teaching to have people believe!

AUNTCONNIE - Just view your life the way I think the apostle Paul (and countless others - me included) may have thought about his life after his conversion - that God Almighty sees that you were 100% sincere in wanting to be a Christian, but certain men perverted the teachings from the Bible, and misled you, just as the Jewish religious leaders in the 1st century were doing with decent Jews like Peter, John, etc.
You weren't trying to serve the men, you wanted to follow Christ, so you haven't wasted your life, you've simply been misguided by charlatans.
Now just let your opened-up mind lead you in a far better way!

I think you are storing up trouble for yourself. Whatever you say, she is going to reveal that you are a possible danger to the "unity of thought" in the cong.
Why not restrict the chat to a couple of 'problems' you have with the explanation of 'new scrolls', (Rev. 20:1-12) as well as the contradiction which Deuteronomy 29:10-15 shows, as regards the teaching that aliens were not in the Covenant.
Stick strictly to the Bible - she cannot question what it is saying against WTBTS teachings!

The Real Aftermath of the AGM...
by raymond frantz ini didn't go to the agm nor was i invited .i didn't go to the sunday meeting either.i received a text though from a long standing ministerial servant that echoes the sentiment in my congragation at least.he was present at the meeting.no elder was there and all parts ,watchtower and public talk were handled by ministerial servants.he was incensed that he was not invited allthough he's been a servant for many years and always volunteered at the assemblies etc.
the absense of all these elders was very noticable .most of the congragation was uninformed for the "dog & ponny show" (sorry agm) and the reason i think was that they were embarrased to admit that only they were going to go.but the most upsetting thing for many is that only the ones that went to the agm got the new bible ,the rest will have to wait till january when the first supply arrives at the congragation.
also many have found out that the instruction is that the new bible has to be used from the congragation straight away at the meetings and field service .imagine the embarrasment to be sitting next to the in crowd with their new flashy bible !.

I visited an elderly sister (70s) yesterday to assist her with something, and she was raging that not only had she not been told about, and invited to watch the video of the AGM, but more importantly, there now seemed to be special ones in the cong who have got a new version of the Bible, while we don't!
I tried to calm her by saying that my wife and myself had been invited, but declined, because we knew about the new Bible, and didn't think it was necessary to go on a 4 hour round-trip and sit listening to speakers for 3 hours - just to be handed a new translation which we will acquire soon enough!
She's still disgusted though - good!!!
